ProsSmall truck Consnone

The 94 Mazda B4000 4x4 — I paid the normal price for the truck. Overall it is a good truck performance is normal for a truck. It's my first midsized 4X4 and great to drive. It has the normal problems of a older truck but nothing I can't fix.

ProsThe B4000 has the power that the other models lack. The LE addiction comes with the extras like power steering and power windows and other things that are convenient even though its a 94. Multi purpose. 160 horse power. ConsGas consumption is pretty bad. Truck feels cheap but that comes with the age.

All Purpose Truck. The Right Balance — I can tow and lug heavy things around. It sounds beautiful with a glasspack. it fits plenty in the 6 foot bed. and has two fold down seats. strong engine. only good if you modify the looks and engine. stock is just too boring. Throttle cable mod is a must! Primary Use: Commuting to work

Proslong lifetime, dependable. Conssome engine trouble

Mighty Mazda — now this thing will run for ages, had some problems with the engine at 220k miles, so i had to get rid of it. had a 5 speed and took that thing everywhere, not all that great looking, but she was my baby. decent handling, could drive it up to 90 on the freeway and still be riding smooth, although the speedometer only went to 85. pretty decent gas mileage. ProsIt made me with I had bought a real truck. ConsAlot of the electronics went bad and I could not get the engine to stop the "ticking" noise (valves).

Mazda Not As Tough As Toyota Or Nissan! — Several years back, I had a Mazda B2000 Truck. I had for about 4 years and spent most of that time fixing it. The valves were the worst. The "ticking" noise drove me absolutely crazy. It didn't have alot of room and it wasn't put together terribly well. It served as a descent "get around town" sort of vehicle, but it didn't even do that incredibly well. Owner for 3 years, 9 months Miles Driven per Year:15,000

Prospaint still great, power Consaccessories, faded outside trim, had to replace engine

If I Had Not Had To Replace Engine, If Accessories Worked, I Would Love It. — Power window does not operate, interior lights & outside light above rear window do not work-had to take out fuses they will not go off. Owned car since 1994, dealer car, had 5,000 miles on it. Now has between 47 & 49,000 on it. Even w/that low mileage had to replace engine about 4 yrs ago. Outside trim started fading/discoloring within yr of purchase. Contrary to what I marked below for primary use, truck only used now and again for casual driving & to haul items could not haul in car now & again since as a washer, load of mulch, lumber to long for car, etc. Primary Use: Family transportation

Comfortable And Reliable But Sluggish. — I got this truck 9 Mths. ago to replace an ailing '88 b2200. Overall it is a good vehicle, mileage is not the greatest but it is comfortable and as reliable as my old 2200. However, it falls off in performance I do not feel I have my full 160HP under the hood. After clearing some obvious problems (Check engine light was on)by replacing the delta sensor, EGR valve, plugging Vac. leaks and replacing the fuel pressure regulator it starts and idles well. Torque is good up to about 2200rpm beyond that it falls off sharply. A Owner for 0 years, 9 months Miles Driven per Year:30,000

This Is My Truck. — Great small pick up. Built by Ford so you cant go wrong there. It gets pretty good gas mileage, around 20 in the city and about 25 - 27 on the highway. Its ok to drive however, being lowered the suspension is really hard. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |
