Pros

My 4.0L has over 250k and it doesn't burn any oil. Runs like a champ and she only breaks down in my driveway. If you keep up on your maintenance that motor will run forever.

Cons

Automatic tranny is exspensive to have rebuilt. The stock gear ratio in my rearend is a 4.10. Drivers top door hinge is coming apart from the body. There isa hinge kit to repair that issue but I welded it for now.You have to take the head of to replace the lifters. I wish it was designed like the 4.9L. w/access covers on block.

Old Reliable — MyJeep Cherokee has been one of my best vehicles I have ever owned. I've owned around 40 vehicles in my lifetime. I owned 2 Cherokee's and both of them are still running today. My 87 was a 4dr w/4wd. It was reaching the 300k range and didn't miss a beat when I sold it. The thing I hated about both of them was the rear hatch. They started to leak and new seal didn't help. They were garage kept so I really didn't look into it further. I believe they both use the nissan pathfinder overdrive transmissions. I don't care for the ignition coil that it uses. I've replaced it twice. Think I'll rewire it so I can use a MSD blaster 2 coil that should kill two birds w/one stone.

The 94 Cherokee — Performance- a lot of torque, most of the time good braking, and with a good set of tires it has good handling Build Quality-all you gotta do is throw a lift on it and it will be a monster Appearance-nice on the inside with or without carpet, and exterior has common rust under the doors Cost of Ownership-not very good gas mileage but totally worth it if you can find places to play around at Fun Factor-by far my favorite vehicle i have

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

handles rough terrain like a mountain goat

Cons

small trunk area fills up fast

Best Bang For Your Buck In A Used Suv — They may not look like much, but the Cherokee has a personality of its own that grows on you the more you drive it. It has decent power, handling, and brakes, and is very reliable. I love driving mine, even though it's a beater with over 200k on the clock.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Spider Jeep — All and all I love this car it's run nicely for me except an old hose or two but upkeep is easy and she would be the best car ever if she wasn't always so thirsty.but this car gets you where you need to go and it might not be lightening fast but you will get there!

Pros

The fact it taught me how to work on a car

Cons

The offroading was really hard on the frame.

Too Bad They Switched This Great Suv To That Pathetic Liberty — It was my offroad truck. Had 33" tires, locker, winch, bumpers, skidplates, rock rails and she went everywhere. It was a great truck, loved the fact I could go to pick and pull and get whatever I needed. The 4L I6 was...well, legendary, it was great and powerful.

they are badass

Cons

there is no reason

Amazing Vehicle — the jeep cherokee is the best off-road vehicle every made. i think that a wrangler is a cheater vehicle. you can put a 2 inch budget lift on it and can go through just as much as you can in a cherokee with a 4 inch lift. i think it takes more talent to be able to fourwheel a cherokee. i would love to get another one.

Pros

There is no reason to drive a jeep on purpose

Cons

It's not a ford.

I'l Probably Cry If Something Happens To It. — I can go trails' ablazin and actually get around in the snow. The radio randomly turns off when it wants to and it's always neat to see oxidizing metal fall off the quarter panels. But it's got the 318 and aftmarket dana 44's.

Pros

cheap and durable on the trail

Cons

unibody but im over it

Jeep Cherokee Xj — The 4.0 high output I-6 coupled with the Aisin- Warner AX15 5-speed manual is an unbeatable drive train. Suspension flex is ok, but would be better with jks disconnects and removal of the rear sway bar. The rear dana 35 axle is sturdy and the np242 transfer case solidly shifts into both 4hi and 4lo.

Pros

Fun

Cons

Gas pedal is too close to the center of the car.  I feel like I have to turn
my body to the left to drive it.

Fun Car — We bought this used and had to get new brakes. We go off road with it and have so much fun.
