Hard As A Rock — ive always owned chevrolet pickups. i had to sell my 2006 6.0l 22 but at the moment i have a 94 manual 5.7 and it is very dependable. i also have a 2000 silverado i gave to my wife. it has over 200k miles and still runs strong. ice cold ac. ive had it since it had 56k miles. ive taken good care of both trucks and they have taken care of me.

Get It. — This truck is a beast. If you want a reliable vehicle get a chevrolet. It has no balls because it's a v6 but it gets decent gas mileage. One day they will make this truck again. Do recommend. It is painted as so one can not see the rust.

Beats Everything Out There That Is The Same Age As This Truck — this truck has balls to it. it is a well made good ol' american machine. needs some fixing up, but the majorty of it runs like new. deffenetly makes the guys in bmw's and mercadi really run for their money to beat me off the line.

Pros

It's not a ford ;p

Cons

Fuel Mileage

Worth It. — Gets from A to B, despite any road conditions. Needs typical rust work on the fenders, quarters, and rocker panels. Sounds decent, not too loud (like half the chevys in town- get a muffler). Dual exhaust-2 racing mufflers, Rockford Fosgate sound system, 3" Rough Country full suspension lift, Nitto snow/mud tires. Fun to drive!!! Just expensive... Overall, a great vehicle for work, and play..

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

A Good First Vehicle. — First off I would like to state that my truck is a single cab step side not the extended cab. It has the 4.3L V6 TBI LB4 engine. It produces a mild 165hp @ 4000rpm and 235 lb-ft torque @ 2000rpm. Though the engine is not all that great, power wise, it is a reliable long lasting piece of engineering. Even after 16 years on the road and 108k miles it is still mechanically sound. A friend of mine had to replace the transmission in his Ford after just 70k miles and less than 1 year off the car lot. It's rated at 13/17 MPGs but, I have been able to get almost 16 MPGs city and 20 MPGs highway. The interior of the truck is rather plain like most 90s vehicles but the step side and raised rear end makes up for the lack of interior styling. Though the 0-60 is about 10 seconds, it will hit 40 in roughly 4.5 seconds. I'm not sure what the top speed is but I have been over 90 mph for sure. The brakes will stop it dead in its tracks and can turn on a dime due to the short wheel base. There is almost no rust on my Chevy and it has never been in a garage or carport. There is a small spec of rust on the hood and driver's side door. There is plenty of room under the hood to add accessories or even drop in a big block 502. There are also quite a few aftermarket addons for the exterior. One downside is changing out parts. GM put a lot of parts around / in the way of the sparkplugs and made changing out the starter almost impossible to do alone.

Great Built Truck — only thing bad is most parts u have to get from dealerships these days its swayin over to the "older" truck category and if u dnt get parts from chevy then they prolly used or OER (remanufacter) and not guarnteed too fit so they r great for trickin out and updatin and EASY to work on accelerates like a truck haha lotsa torque! brakes r ok if u have the wrong driver they can b untrustworthy for the feel of the pedal exterior scratches from gravel roads and minor bumps less than 5 dents throuout whole truck interior is spotless gas is 14mpg AVG runnin lil hwy and mostly in town so 13-15 mpg not bad for a 5.7L and i LOVE to drive it haha debatin whether i love it more than the 04 mach 1 if so its VERY close and yes i drive it fast....thru corners as well hahaha

The Grinch — It's a Chev, enough said. ;) Gas mileage aint the greatest, but if u really care about that-get a prius you loser. jk. Rough Country 3.5" lift with 285/75/r16 Nitto Terra Grapplers. This thing can corner on the highway, as well as take care of itself off-road.
