Love This Old Cherokee! — I have a 1993 Jeep Cherokee Country, 4 door, 4 wheel drive. This is the best vehicle I have owned, bar none, for visibility, reliability, powering through ice and snow. I have driven a number of new vehicles, and just cannot find anything I like as well as my old Cherokee. I love the style of the old Cherokees--the squared front and back, the all around full windows (like driving in a greenhouse), the two-toned exterior. the wonderful cloth seats (the interior on my old Jeep is still in excellent condition)! The Jeep has rust, now, from too many Minnesnowta winters, and the windows can only be operated from the driver's side. The main issue, though, is the lack of air bags. This is the only reason I have even considered a newer vehicle. None of the new jeeps have good reliability ratings. I hate the body design of the new Cherokees. Will stick with my old gal--drive her untill the tires fall off!

One Big Mecharno Kit. Made From Lumps Of Pig Iron And Girders — stops, goes, cheap to maintain, needs the odd little thing here or there now and again. works off road really well. nothing says characture like a few bumps and scrapes through use. really fun for scaring BMW drivers who try to cut you up on a roundabout. or just BMW drivers in general.

Impress With Classic Style Of The Jeep — What I dislike the most is the small space for the truck. When I grocery shopped it was a bite irritating to have many bags after shopping and not enough space was not pleasant so many times. But to each as own. You maybe comfortable with the size of truck space.

Pros

She took a licking but is still ticking!

Cons

The only thing that sucks is that she was neglected a bit

Treat Her Well And She Will Take You Places — Fun to drive, turns on a dime, needs TLC right now, but will get it. She has some get-up-and-go! I have faith that she will always get me home as long as I look after her. Enough cargo space for me, my family and my dogs!

Its My Sisters But Going To Be Mine — i like that they are all ready for trails and off road new. it has a nice 4 liter inline six motor. 4 wheel drive and a blast to drive around town. although a lot of these have bad cataletic converters so it sounds funny

Cons

Fun Vehicle For All — Good go-everywhere rig. A little rough around the edges, but working on it. Easiest and most fun vehicle I've ever worked on. Also, Jeeps have a very fun attraction; once you drive one you'll know the meaning behind the slogan "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand".

The Family Commuter/mudder — I have loved this Jeep for 10 years. It has 250,000 miles now and still runs strong. I have done most of the work to it and can attest to it's affordability and accountability. It squeaks, rattles and is a bumpy (lifted with extra leaf spring) ride. I had a lot of fun in this car with my family. It has been wonderful for camping too. If it ever sells I will truly miss it. Oh yeah, it's for sale, $2500 OBO.

Pros

If you want an SUV you will love and have for life.

Cons

If you don't have the time to put into taking care of it.

Awesome In Ever Meaning Of The Word! — Accelaration is good until 3rd gear, the torque is amazing with the Inline 6 4.0L high output engine with Chrysler 4:10 gears in the back. Braking sucks, and handling is almost to good. The Body is a Uni-body and has great flex but it also makes for more repairs such as door hinges and any rust must be done as soon as found or it is a costly repair. Appearance is a model that is used by many companies now in there small SUV lines. Even Chrysler/Jeep went back to the style after a breif stent with the Original Liberty. Not the best on MPG but it is no where near the worst. The 4-cylinders are much better but don't have the torque. If you can manage to stay off the gas your mileage will improve by 4 or 5 MPG. And this is by far the most fun vehicle I have driven besides a camaro, or big old Dodge Ram 3500 Cummens Deisel.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

I Love My Old Jeep If You Don't Get Its A Jeep Thing!!! — Performance- for its age acceleration is brisk the 4.0l holds it own, braking is good its an suv not a sports car, handling is a bit on the oversteer side but I like it. Build Quality- when it was built its a great vehicle the first uni-body suv, but it would've been better if it was a full frame chassis. The only common problems is the rear main seal, valve cover gasket and exhaust manifold but since I repaired them I haven't had any problems. Its a 90's suv with solid axles so it rides like a truck not a new car. Appearance- Exterior to me it great yeah it boxy but its a jeep the only thing I wish they had sunroofs back then. Interior is pretty spacious I can carry all my tools and anything and everything I need. Cost of Ownership- Gas mileage by today's standards it sucks at 15mpg city/ ~20mpg highway. Maintenance is pretty standard: oil changes(~$20), seasonal fluid(~$50) changes and tune-ups(~$35) besides the rear main seals(~$15) leaking(you probably have to change once a year cause its a 2 piece design once you do 1 the rest are cake). Fun Factor- it has go anywhere capabilities with good road manners I enjoy being prepared for anything.
