Pros

Excellent Gas mileage whether 4- or 6-cyl, respectively 5 Speed.

Cons

If you don't like reasonable repairs, I wouldn't consider this an efficient car.

Gm Started Out Alright With Their Efi Inline 4-cyl, 76,xxx Miles And Still Strong. — Reliable, but falls apart... Like any car of the early 90's lol. - Performance - 2.2 inline 4, 110 WHP/ 130lb torque, 4wh. ABS, back drums. Pretty good handling for a compact car, but not completely autobahn/landstrasse worthy. - Build Quality - Needed no major repairs, just tires, typical electrical system (Alternator, Battery, etc.) Plugs, Wires, Brakes, Oil and oil/air filters. - Appearance - Looks okay for a sporty, yet economical 90's 4-cyl car. Comfortable, yet practical interior. Exterior with black trimming looks pretty crappy. Tears off, or breaks off. Otherwise coloring and detailing is pretty reasonable. - Cost of Ownership - The car gets an average of 33 mpg, being that it's a 5 speed. On longer trips, I've calculated an average of 38.7 MPG on HIGHWAY. In TOWN, I get about 28/29 MPG. Maintenence is relatively cheap, whether needing new, rebuilt, or refurbished parts. Junk yards are pretty cavalier-friendly. Parts for these cars are found almost in any Autoparts store. Otherwise, in the next few years, they'll be going out of stock!! This car is pretty fun to drive, whether hot roddin' it up (purrs when dormant, roars when anxious..) or just cruisin' around the block. I'd definitely buy another Cavalier... or their replacement, the COBALT. :)

Cons

the top squeaks and I just had to buy a  new cable for the shift

My Beauty — I love this car! I bought it in 1993 and drive it in the summer so it only has 55k miles - not bad for a 15 year old car. It is fun to drive and is actually good on gas mileage. The only difficult thing about this car is that when the top is up, it is hard to see out the back when you drive in reverse.

Best Car I've Ever Had. Nothing Compares. I'd Buy A New One If They Were Still Made. — I absolutely LOVE my Z24. It's getting old and I need to get a new paint job. But mechanically it's PRIMO. In 17 years, I've only had to replace: 1 cotter pin, 1 alternator. Car does not like to go slow! It runs best at 60-80 MPH, so I have to watch out when the limit is below 60. I don't have a lead foot, but the least little pressure makes this boy wanna fly! Handles great. Styling is awesome. Looks like a flying wedge.

Great Little Car If You Don't Want Room. — Honestly, I didn't even want it, but it was a car. It grew on me and it wasn't that bad. It was a pretty fun and spunky little four banger.Until the brakes decided to fail on us. Maybe someone was trying to kill us! :O

Blue Beast — I bought this car to drive to work, 90 miles a day. It's good on gas for a 6 cylinder and is fun to drive with the top down. It get a few looks on the highway, for being such an old car. I LOVE this little beast.

It's Cheap, But Its Also Cheap — This car is good for a starter car, because it was cheap as in inexpensive to acquire. It was also fairly inexpensive to maintain, as there were a lot of similar cars on the road to provide cheap parts. However, its also cheap as in poorly made. The trim is very plastic-y and its not a car for looks. If cost was your only measure, this is the car for you

Fun Fun Fun — I had so much fun in this car, from Winnipeg to Peace River and back again several trips. It took me from North Dakota to the Northwest Territories, so many memories. If they still made this body style I would buy another, but alas, Chevy decided to make a lesser crappier version just after I bought this one. The cavalier is no more, but Chevrolet lives on thanks to government bailouts!

It Has Its Minor Flaws But All And All It A Great Car — the car has been a good car for me in the 2 years i have own it. the performence isn't the best but its not the worse. the car is fun to drive and handles ok. it sucks in snow however. the car has probelms with the starter. i 've put to in since i bought it. repairs are cheap and easy. oil changes are harder to do then some other repairs. the car looks better then the 95 round body style. the mpg are around 25.
