Pros

4.3 liter V6 kicks some booty!!

Cons

GM truck bodies in the earlyh 1990's sucked major donkey balls so my truck is pretty rusty.

Reliable And Rusty:) — love the s-10 line of trucks. I am on my second one and though a little primitive, they have excellent power and are relativley problem free, on top of being cheap to fix. The 4.3 liter V6 is one of GM's best motors and is still in use to this day

Pros

Affordable, best of all worlds of small trucks

Cons

Rust, Maintence

You Love It Or You Don't — For a 92 small pickup, its a decent truck. It is pretty solid, and can pull a lot more than I thought... its a little too light for serious pulling, it will spin and its hard to stop a load especially on gravel. Its has some decent torque as well. Personally, I really like the way it handles. I have drove some Rangers, and they feel very unresponsicve if you're wipping them around a corner. The s10, you can feel it in the wheel. Thats just my opinion. Mileage isn't great. I recently converted to an electric fan, and thats helped a bit. Maintence can really be a pain because everything is so tightly pack in. I always have to remove something or another to get at the problem. Age and MN roads will take their toll in the common areas, like the rear corners of the cab and work forward. Appearance, thats all in the eyes of you. Owners of them usually love them, other people are wonderin why you drive something like that. The look has grown on me foresure. I have always liked a truck with a street stance, and its not common to have that with a 4x4, and in rural MN 4x4 is a must. Fun factor, a little personalization, like a aftermarket muffler to give it a moddest zone, and any other mods to style it for you... and it can't be a fun little truck to cruise in. It also doesn't have cut out, so if you wanna get it up to 115 mph, go for it. Yes it will, atleast mine has...

Cons

two tone paint known to peel.

Good Little Truck — the 4.3 has plenty of power for whatever you need, and still gets just under 20 mpg in the city. body wise, i have the two tone blue and grey paint. the gray is known to peel, mine isnt looking so hot right now. the truck itself is pretty strong, i havent had any problems with things breaking on me. overall, it is a good little truck.

Best 2wd Pickup — A 1992 pickup bought as my first vehicle. Long box, 5 speed, power steering, A/C, crank windows, regular locks, 4.3 liter v-6, two tone blue. What else can I say about it other than the fact that I miss it. Had 100,000 miles on it when I got it. Made it out and back to Wyoming from Minnesota, brothers ford couldn't even make the trip once one way. Transmission liked to jump out of 3rd gear towards the end. Don't ever remember putting any parts in it in the 4 years I had it, other than oil and tires. Trying to find another 92 s10 like this one.

92 S-10 — i bought this truck new in 92. it was a great little truck. it got about 25mpg with the 4cyl and 5speed. handling was pretty good, 5speed shifter very easy to shift. good little run-around vehicle with decent cargo capacity.

Cons

Minor electrical issues.

The Beast — 1992 S10 350ci V8, 2WD, 4sp automatic shift kit. Estimated 220hp, no clue on torque but its a monster (breaks loose in 3rd gear at 45mph). Absolute blast to drive besides the fact that it is slammed so every little bump radiates through the dash board!!!

It Runs — it runs well and is pretty easy to fix. looks kinda crappy but hey it's an old truck. it gets 25 MPG highway and maintainance is relatively cheap. it's a stick and has rear wheel drive so I can drift with it.
