Excelent Truck For A Young Man In School — Great acceleration with the 350 and auto. Trim is ok when it holds together, like the dashboard always cracks and the headliner always sags. Has decent gas mileage and hardly any maintenance. It's one of the toughest trucks I've ever owned!

Chevy Tough — i love how it drives lot of power runs even with high miles like brand new never lets me down and i have nice off road kit and that never lets me down either. 350 small block cost list in gas but when it comes to gas should not care

My Chevy 1500 Stepside.... — I love our truck, It is reliable, dependable, fuel efficient, and might be a little old with high miles but she is still a stepside and still looks good and runs great not to mention the only thing I do is change the oil every 2 thousand miles and keep everything greased, she has around 250-300 thousand miles on her but is still perkin right along and can hopefully go for another few .... :)

Pros

Large engine - plenty of horsepower.  It was roomy and drove like a tank.

Cons

It seems like everything went bad on this truck.

This Baby Had "lemon" Written All Over It! — I bought this truck out of the Truck Trader in Phoenix, Arizona. It was a very nice looking truck, but I refused to see the signs of a "lemon" hiding within. 4 days after my purchase the transmission went bad on the way up to Payson, Arizona. After the transmission it was a pully problem. After the pully problem it was the starter. After the starter it was the ignition lock assembly. After the ignition lock assembly it was the throttle body. One thing after another until I couldn't take it any longer. I traded it in on a brand new Pontiac Grand Prix, but that's for another review.

Workhorse — I use this truck mainly for plowing. I love the truck and it's reliability. I don't like the fact that the body panels rust so quickly though, even when I take good care of it. Other than the vibration I experience upon acceleration, the truck is wonderful. Wish I could pinpoint the cause for this vibration. Very annoying to someone as meticulous as I am.

Pros

500,000 before motor needed to be rebuilt. Currently over 692,000 and still runs great. Hauls anything you can hook up to and has the power needed for the hill country.

Cons

Original paint job from factory could have been better.
Headlights were not impressives.
Seat belt design and operation sucks

Great Truck To Buy Very Dependable — I am impressed with the amount of work this truck handles each day, even on weekends. Heading to 693,000 miles so I guess the truck is still paying dividends. You think? I have made sure to use quality SHELL oil only and maintained it otherwise as recommended. I would only give Chevrolet the thumbs up for overall quality of the truck except for the paint job.

My Keyna — I love my truck. It is a fantatic truck. I have had no issues with it. My only complaint would be gas cost. It looks great. I love bench seats so that is a plus. The interior is nicely set up and the body has a good look.

Pros

I put 4.10 gears in it to give it a little extra and I get 16-18 mpg but I think the 5 speed manual helps with that too

Cons

Manual tranny in the dunes is a little harder to use as you cannot shift going up the sand dunes but other wise its great

Had It For 18 Years Now, Still A Really Great Truck — I do not drive this in the Winter but Chevy has some issues with their rust protection because every one i see has rust around the cab corners so I need new cab corners like almost all chevy pick-ups. But it sure is not as bad as the dodge pick-ups. Still one of the Best trucks out there for your money as they are reasonably easy to work on and relatively inexpensive to fix,

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
