Rare Car — got this car during the cash for clunkers program. if you are looking for a great performance vehicle the best option is to find a stick shift trans am for two reasons one it provides a more enjoyable driving experience. two with a stick if you are inclined to upgrade you can replace it with a 6speed out of a 1993-2002 trans am or camaro the only bad thing with these cars is the paint has issues but after almost 20 years what do you expect.

I Love This Car — this car is a beast...so powerful and fast, i would def recommend it to others because it is pretty fun. The only problem is that it uses lots gas because of its v8 engine otherwise it is a pretty nice ride

Primary Use: Family transportation

Wish I Could Ave It Back — loved the car to death. jus wished i coulda had it one color instead of different color panals. miss it. if i could or had the chance to ever get it back i would do whatever i had to to be able to do so. it performed gread always sarted for me the first time all the time. great braking and handling. it never needed any repairs cause i was always fixing what was going wrong with the car. spent whatever money i had to on the car to keep her going. overall i would give it a 5 out of 5 had the car for 2 and a half years never let me down

Pros

Awesome car, Fast, Sleek, and all around amazing.

Cons

None really. I have absolutely no problems with this car.

Awesome!! — This is definitly a car to have and for the price you can find them it is well worth it. It sounds great both the v6 and v8 models sound awesome. It looks ultra sleek, and even sitting still looks fast. The acceleration on both the v6 and v8 models is out of this world. the v8 model will do a quarter mile in 13 seconds stock. The braking is quality. It handles better than most sports cars that i have driven. The build quality is amazing and easy to upgrade. Im a big fan of the style and the interior can look very very sleek. This car is great and i have a blast in it every day.

Thoughts — This is my first Firebird, first convertible too!! 2nd owner, 70,000 original motor. All stock un molested. List of mods I plan on doing in order. New Pioneer sound system New paint, stock color New soft top New aftermarket exhaust Complete suspension mods New tires and rims A super charged, liquid inter-cooled 350 TPI That's it not really to much. just bring it up to date a little.

The Only New Car I've Ever Owned... Wouldn't Trade It For Anything. — I bought my car new in May 1990 and remain its sole owner/driver. It was my primary car until 1997/1998, where I bought a truck and removed it from the road (difficult - no impossible - to navigate the western PA winter roads). The car has been sitting under a cover in my garage for the past 12-13 years - only about 75,000 mi. I pulled it out about 3 years ago and it fired up almost immediately. I let it idle to get some temp in the engine, shut it down, washed it, and pulled her back into storage. It is my intention to fix the small items (left headlight won't retract, pass door outside handle, hood cylinders need replaced (hood won't remain up unassisted), hood release mechanism needs fixed, want to replace all hoses, plugs, check brakes/fluid, and flush coolant and tranny fluid). Now that I have approached middle age (lol), I intend to only use her for casual driving on nice days. Can't wait fort that first drive !!

Pros

Handling, braking, appearance, comfortable seats, power everything, easy reach for anything in the car, got up to speed quick.

Cons

Low to the ground, electronic problems with the tilt wheel, paint peels on the hood, fuel economy.

Old Reliable. — I had this car for three years and would have kept it but there was an issue with it starting which no one, my father and family mechanic included, who knew what was wrong with it. It was a great car and never let me down in the long run, I would gladly get another.

An Affordable Performer. — It handles very well in the corners, and stops on a dime. The seats are comfortable and everything is laid out nice and easy to reach. When the t-tops are out, driving around town is cool.

Pros

too many to count

Cons

not enough power, tranny is really brakeable when you drive it hard.

The Only Complaint Is The Need For More Power To Compete With All The New Cars — I love my car, handles great and is alot of fun to drive! but even with the 305 HO and a full flowmaster exhaust, its pretty slow. quick enough to fight off all but the best imports, but still pretty slow. That and the tranny was built to back up a 4 banger, and even the 300ftlbs my pathetic 305 makes, it doesnt last more than a year or 2.

A Daily Driver That Is Fun To Drive And Tune. — It's my first car I built and tuned. I plan on keeping it a daily driver until I'm out of school. I've spent a lot of hours driving and tuning and have learned a lot from it. This car has served its purpose and plan on doing some more tuning later.
