Pros

Loads of power, reliable, cheap, easy to work on

Cons

Low gas mileage

The Beast — The 350cid small-block V8 has plenty of torque and power. The transmission is a 4-speed (w/overdrive) and is very responsive and kicks down fairly quick when you punch it. The beauty of the drive-train is the rear-end, a limited-slip posi. The interior is simple, yet effective and the gauges are easy to read. It handles like you would expect a truck to handle and the ride is actually better than what I expected. The truck is very easy to work on and is quite reliable. The gas mileage sucks, but that is expected in an older truck. The styling is simple but not too simple, everything flows together smoothly. Overall this is a very good vehicle and can be purchased for quite cheap. However, you get a whole lot of truck for a little money. The gas mileage is one of the few downsides.

Pros

Low end torque and dependablity.  Cheap safe vehicle thats easy on insurance.

Cons

Poor steering, poor MPG, and poor brakes. The ride quality isnt the best either.

Work Truck — Back home, I drive my dad's old 91 Chevy Silverado. Its dependable, we have put about 350K miles with the stock drivetrain. I love the steel body work and the engine is great. However, it drinks gasoline like its going out of fashion! The 5.7l V8 has a ton of aftermarket parts for it. This truck can be completely redone to fit you needs. A rebuilt truck would offer the great low end torque that this bad boy had new.

Cons

Not the old Chevy I used to stand behind and defend. Lets not even talk about the paint issues I had with this vehicle!

Nice Truck, But The Transmission Sucks — Its been a reliable rig. Although the rear end whines even after rebulid, and the tranny howls even after rebuild.

Fast.
Sounds good.

Cons

Spray painted black, haha!
Pretty ugly.

Pretty Fast Truck. — Base model truck with a 350, dual flowmasters, and a 5 speed tranny. I think that pretty much sums it up.

Pros

The V-6 is better on gas, Well built heavy duty construction, 5 speed, very large cab, easy to repair

Cons

Slightly under-powered

35

Great Truck Considering It's Age, Very Well Built And Many Uses Year Round! — The 5 speed manual is fun to drive and offers many practical uses. Though it somewhat lacks in power, it is more gas efficient than the V-8.
