Pros

Reliable!!!!!

Cons

1.3L I-4 engine doesn't make a lot of power

A Great 4x4 — This is not a death trap! I drove this thing over and through everything. You have to do something stupid to flip it! It does leave you wanting a lot more in the power department, but it is so incredibly reliable it isn;t funny. Plus a 10 mm and 12 mm wrench will pretty much disassemble the whole thing! Highly Recommend

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Great Little Suv. One Of The Best Cars I Ever Drove. — I had an 88, which was not an option. A cute, but small 4X4, this is the little SUV that could. She could go places in 2WD that bigger $WDs wouldn't tread. I drove it sideways up a 75 degree incline. So steep, I could reach over and touch the ground through the passenger's window. The engine was terribly slow, but the 30MPG was great. When I literally threw a piston, it still went, and I was able to overtake a car that was preventing me from merging onto the shoulder. After towing it 100 miles, and it losing all of it's oil along the way, it still cranked and drove to th backyard to be repaired. The braking was poor. But, it was stable, and very fun to drive, especially with the tops off.

Pros

Rag top jeep format.

Cons

On road ride comfort.

Perfect Offroader. — Performance is great with a few mods, not that great if it is stock. Build Quality it is one tough piece of machine. Appearance is very rugged. It is cheap to maintain, parts are cheap and fuel economy is the best you can find. It is most fun car to take off road. No fear of breaking parts.

Samurai's Are Awesome!! — I like to bomb around in my 1988 Suzuki Samurai. It has a mild Suspension lift via a Jeep YJ spring swap kit and 29in Toyo tires. I currently have running off a ZOR my-side2 Harley Davidson Side-draft conversion setup.

Because it goes ANYWHERE!

Cons

None.

Best Way To Spend Money. — This rig kicks arse. It is totally stock and really straight. I traded a wood chipper and $500 for it and have out "wheeled" Jeeps with thousands of dollars in mods. My favorite thing is the look on peoples faces when they get schooled by my "cute" little four-by after they talk troves of crap about it.

Pros

If you off-road 90% of the time, like having removable roof.

Cons

Not very comfortable, low power, poor handling.

Excellent If Used Primarily Off-road Or On Low Speed Roads, Avoid Freeways. — It was a good vehicle, seemed to be reliable, intereor was not real comfortable especially with two people in it, was once told "it felt like being in a can of sardines". The power was disappointing, to say the least; fuel economy was alright about 20-21, handling was not very good, more than likely due to it being so narrow. This is an excellent off-road vehicle, will go almost anywhere.

Pros

Great off road

Cons

very tipy

Samurai — This Samurai was a great off road vehicle because it didn't have a bunch of power and it was light and small! it was very easy to navigate in tight areas and climbed steep terrain very well. The Samurai was lifted 3" with 31/10.5 mud tires that didn't help the stability much but made it go any place i wanted it to. The interior was nice to clean not to stylish but if it got dirty all i had to do was pull the plugs and hose it down.

Pros

Easy to fix, fun to drive, there are lots of after market parts to make them your own.

Cons

People have stolen tools and a radio out of my Zuk it is a soft top so it is easy for them to get in to it.

35

Awesome Little Rig To Own And Wheel — I love owning this Zuk it is fun to drive on and off road not real great on the freeway but it is stable and it feels like your safe (at least the way I drive it). It is pretty easy to fix and parts have gotten a little easier to find in the last 10 years I have owned it.

Pros

that its a 1988 and is still kickin'

Cons

needs alternator, exhaust and manual hub

35

Still Crazy After All These Years — **NOTE: is 1988, not 1990. love love love. wanted one since elementary school. found for 16th birthday. yay! bearly makes 60mph. easier when going downhill. prefers slow and steady. rattles you to the bone. put new speakers and stereo in. needs exaust, alternator, and manual locking hub. decent gas mileage for little four banger. sounds like squirrels in a cage. good front seats, back bench needs help. gas gauge lies. love it!
