Economical And Luxurious. — 405 1.9 GRD (non-turbo diesel, 70bhp) saloon. Electric windows and sunroof. It had a long wheelbase which therefore gave a smooth ride. Easy handling on bend and corners at a decent velocity. Performance in the 0-60 wasn't enough to write home about if you started the traffic light grand prix in first gear, however start in second gear and it went like a rocket. |

Not Bad — For the year 1990, it was a convenient economy car, it ran nicely compared to the competitors of it's class, the ride comfort was average, the interior space was excellent but the craftmanship was poor and parts started to break off unexpectedly. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

I Beat A Porsche Boxter In My 405 Gtxi... — It was a quick car, loved every minute of having it. easy enough to drive. handleing was good concidering i had an estate, not too much body roll or too soft suspension. power steering was stiff, but not so stiff that you couldnt park it. very practicle. love the car. watch out for the dreaded head gasket though, caught me out and ruined the car. Primary Use: Family transportation |

ProsGreat acceleration, awesome suspension setup gives it great handling and a comfortable ride. ConsInterior is a bit shabby, especially the cloth trim.
