Pros

Great fun to drive.  Loves to keep going.

Cons

Sucks down gas like its going out of style.

454 Ss — It drives like a performance car. It has tons of low end torque making it a blast to drive around town. Only have 125000 miles on it and have only replaced the alternator and distributor. The interior is mint and the Exterior has some faded paint on the hood and top of the cab. Although it only gets 6 mpg I wouldn't trade it for the world. Its a blast to drive.

Pros

always starts, drives through deep snow, doesn't break down, pulls trees right out of the ground

Cons

poor gas mileage, underpowered, rust is eating the wheelwells

35

Tough Truck — The truck has the original 305 in it with 4 wheel drive and oversized tires which makes gas mileage very poor but this truck will start in the coldest weather and run right through the deepest snow... gotta love it.

Silverado — very nice silverado. this is a mark industries custom. i traded this with the '96 t-bird when we bought ourselves a house. i used this chevy as a daily driver and i hauled cargo with it. the 350tbi engine was awesome. with overdrive tranny and 3.55:1 rear it launched like crazy and had top speed of 200kmh (120mph). nice surprise for ricers. had to sold it to get the '76 t-bird

Pros

Bought it for $300, came with 31X10.5 R15, had leaf springs and a rear differential from a full size van. Replaced the bench seat with 89 camaro bucket seats.

Cons

Reliable enough that there were none in the junkyard for interior parts or a used tailgate.... needed some interior parts and a tailgate. The 31s made city driving bad on gas but amazing on the highway, but I didn't care about the gas mileage. RUST!!!!!

Love At First Burnout. — Loved it. Not a single complaint. Paid $300 put about $800 into it and it ran great until I was cut off and t-boned a car. The stars I gave it were for the truck as it was not a comparison to any other vehicle.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Bumble Bee — I love this truck i have beatin new avalanches, f150's, and silverado's. they have computerchips and other mods to them too. the cam isnt huge but you can definitly tell theres a bigger one in it and it sounds more like a racecar when i get on it. my plans are to turn it into a 454ss clone and keep the factory color and have it pro street and strip

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

I Love It And Will Never Get Rid Of It — The performance is good but needs work. It has needed mulitple repairs but is running good currently. The paint is getting faded and chiped and their are some dents but still looks great. It is so much fun to drive, sounds and looks great.

Pros

Fun driving a fast truck that's pretty much unstoppable.

Cons

Not the safest truck to drive in winter!

35

In Its Current Condition, $4,000 — For a pretty much stock truck may be the coolest vehicle I may ever own. Haven't had to do anything to this truck even after 110,000. Acceleration is great 0-60 in around 4.5 sec with TBI but should be amazing with multi point FI someday. Braking isn't bad, could use rear disc kit, handling is awesome, truck just hugs the ground, could be better with rear sway bar. These trucks are bullet proof and built very strong. Appearance never gets old but could use a few updates like shaved handles, tailgate and gas tank door, maybe a 4-4-2 style cowl hood. Interior is ok, needs a few updates. My plan is just to rebuild everything someday and make this my daily driver for summer.

Pros

good starting point for a performance truck

Cons

MPG

45

You Buy A 454 Ss, You Get A 454 Ss — Everyone thinks this truck was fast but it wasn't. Well it beat alot of cars/trucks, but that isn't saying much. MPG was the reason it went bye bye. This truck was fun only because of the 400+ FT torque. Not a good daily driver!!!! YES I pulled my race car with this truck!
