Prosstrong engine; well-engineered; comfortable; targa top is awesome to open and look at the sky, while not being dated like t-tops; huge aftermarket Consvery heavy for it's relative size; well-known head gasket issues which are easy to fix but really shouldn't be a problem to begin with; pop-up headlights are evil when it comes to drag and certainly are just more moving parts to break; cycloptic rear taillight is just plain ugly. shame on you, toyota.

Fun, Late-80s Sports Car — this is a pretty fun little car. actually, i shoudn't say little, because despite the physical size, the car is a fatty. in any case, it handles quite well due to the toyota TEMS electronic modulated suspension. the engine is well-mated, providing enough horsepower, especially when boost kicks in, to motivate the car. it's a bit unfortunate that we didn't get the twin-turbo version here in the states. it's a good option for thise who can't get their hands on the MK-IV supra but still want toyota power and reliability. |

ProsOne of the few japanese cars with a soul

80's Jap-rocket! — The Supra was a small revolution when it arrived on the scene in the mid 80's. Not since the Toyota Crowns, Celicas ( lets not forget 2000GT ) japanese cars had a very thin personality -most people looked upon them as transportation -and compared to European and American marquees they didnt have any glorious legacy to boast. the Toyota 2000 GT debuted in a James Bond movie and the Datsun-Nissans 200ZX's paved the way in the late 70's The S upra Mk1 was constructed on the base of a 77 model Celica, it preluded what was to come, the MK2 got its own platform an onboard computer to regulate the fuel injection, and picked up massive sales in the USA. I have owned a MK2 and currently my MK3 is in for an overhaul -I love the Supra because its the cheapest and most reliable way to get most horsepower for my money, 6.3, 0-100km, stock, gives decent performance even by todays standards. And finally because its so easy to upgrade. |

Prosgood acceleration, tight handling, loaded with everything you can think of, easy to see out of, and shifting was still tight. Very nice styling. Got lots of compliments as I was driving across the U.S. ConsMy lower back became sore after extended periods of driving. Gas filler on the passenger side (I'm use to it being on the driver side. No way to open fuel door except handle by left hand side of seat. I would have put a key access on the door since I was always forgetting to pull the lever as I got out of the car.

I Just Put 1668 Miles In 3 Days In The Car And Loved How It Handles And Cruises. — I just purchased the car and drove it from Maryland to Colorado. I am in my late 40's, so my back is a bit sore, but other than that, the car is fun to drive, is peppy, and I got 23 to 25 miles per gallon. For a car that is 18 years old, it is still tight in the handling and no strange squeaks or noises. Since it is a sports car, the ride is a bit stiff, but I expected that. Very easy to keep at a specified speed, and a joy to drive for short to modest length trips. Owner for 0 years, 1 months Miles Driven per Year:1,665 |

ProsGreat handling car for the age and size. ConsNot much rear seat space.

Sweet Car!! — Car looks and drives great. The car needs a little up dating on its suspension and power. Dad bought it new in 1988 and gave to me for my 35th B-day :D That was 7 years ago. Still loving it!! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

Screw 1jz Or 2jz, 7m All The Way :) — Performance: I'll be honest, everyone says this car is heavy and slow but, i think it handles its weight VERY well, and that's coming from an s2000. as far as 'speed' just do some bolt ons and it will be plenty fine after that Build quality: after a proper head gasket job, this car is built like a tank, i never had a car that felt more solid (and thats with a targa top! [granted i haven't driven with the top off yet]) Apperance: love it, classic 80's styling, nice long hood, pop up head lights ftw! The car is very very fun to drive Primary Use: Commuting to work |

If You Can Get Your Hands On One Buy It You Won;t Regret It. — Never winter driven, so body is in very good shape. I like the way it looks without the spoilers it is still very sporty. Surprisingly nice to drive on the highway.Lumbar supports and fully ajustable seats make it very comfortable downside the back seat has minimal leg room. The car drives great corners like a go cart, and braking (four wheel disc.) A little stiff on the bumps. Still has original paint the aluminum wheels sttarting to show their age.The center console is starting to deteriate,if anyone knows a fix for this advise would be welcomed. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsIt's my dream car. Well close enough. My actual dream car is the MKIV model. I have the MKIII so I'm happy. ConsMy car: the interior is beat all to hell. The car in general: nothing.

Huge Potential. — It's all stock, 7M-GE engine, interior, everything. The only thing aftermarket is the stereo. The bad things about the car is the all of the interior panels from the back seat to the hatch area have all been taken out and I'm in the process of trying to find replacement parts. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsQuick, Comforable, not too "busy", is 2 + 2 and more room than the 911 I had prior. Consback tends to meet the front if I push her too hard on a bend - can be like driving a boat!

My 3litre Toyota Supra Turbo - All Original — She's almost 20yrs old, all original, (even sound system!) and only 104,000 genuine miles on the clock...... Very thirsty, so keep her for best :-)) Fair amount of leg room in back, and of course being hatch back I can even sleep in it - as am only little :-)) Love my car! |

ProsSolid, safe and reliable (as long as it is well maintained) ConsNone

Great, Solid Car. — This car is a well built, solid car. Like every old car, it has it's down sides. One major is BHG, if the car you bought from someone has the original HG, chances are it WILL go out on you. Best thing to do is get the block decked and the head done, and put in a MHG with ARP studs. FOLLOW the torque sequence correctly. also keep an eye on the oil. This motor is VERY sensitive to oil starvation. RK is going to happen if the car is starved of oil, a good rule of thumb is to put an extra quart of oil just to be safe. Other than that, this car a great. It is hard to get one in really good condition, such as a great interior, motor and paint. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
