Excellent Handling And Fun To Drive. — I have completely restored my 1989 Coupe inside and out. It has excellent power, braking and is just and all-around fun car to drive. Parts and service are easy to get. I recommend this year foe older Corvette enthusiasts. Owner for 7 years, 1 months Miles Driven per Year:6,500

Highly Recommended For Those Who Love To Drive And Are Mechnically Inclined. Hybrid? — WOW! My only regret is that I did not own one sooner. Fast, fun, still has the looks, 27 MPG with the really nice 6 speed. With only 87K original miles, it still runs really strong. Some minor component failures but there are at least 10 places to buy all the parts you will ever need! Buy a C4, you'll love it! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

The Coolest Car I've Driven — My dad's cousin was nice enough to let me take her Corvette for a spin. After having driven a Corvette, I am bumping the Buick Regal from #4 down to #5. What I liked as much as the performance was the digital gauges, I'm surprised more cars don't have them today. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

'89 Corvette Coupe — Great performance, but she is old and has a lot of little issues, like wiring and starting problems. Once I get her running though, she is fast and strong and absolutely stunning! The looks are fabulous and classic, turns heads every time I take her out. Also, the handling, even in the rain, is superb.

ProsJust purchased this car. Engine/drivetrain in very good condition. Getting tuneup, new injectors, serp belt, Bilstein shocks, vented brakes & Michelin tires. Car has loads of options. Too many to list here. Biggest plus is that I got it cheap ($3500). ConsCar has been neglected for the past 1-2 years. Has some body damage: front hood clip and wing need replacements, ground skirts need repair, but car will be completely stripped and sanded down to primer and repainted. Needs new interior carpeting. Leather seats are intact but power seat needs some repairs, steering wheel may need replacing, stereo unit (and probably speakers) are toast. Under-hood and under-dash electrical has issues.

'89 Vette - Diamond In The Rough — Although it still needs some work, this is a great car to DRIVE and that's what I plan to do with it; take road trips and put some miles on it - not restore it to show-car quality and just garage it. Really fun to do research and learn about the car, too - almost as fun as driving it. I've obtained the original owners manual (invaluable), The Corvette "Black Book", and have gotten tons of help from online forums. One person put me in touch with the Corvette Museum in KY, where I was able to order the original "build sheet" and "window sticker" for the car, which had NO paperwork, at all. I do what work I can, myself (detailing, interior work) and for the rest of the work (mechanical, electrical, body work painting) I'm having done at a local shop as well as at Corvettes of Auburn, a Corvette specialty shop near Seattle. Have also been obtaining needed parts online - both from parts houses (Ecklers, Mid-America, Corvette Central, etc.) and private parties. Have learned that it pays to shop around. Have joined "Corvette Forum", online, and have gotten some great tips. People are always eager to listen and help! In all, a great Experience! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Great gas mileage on the highway. A bit harsh on bumping pavement. (european ride quality) Primary Use: Family transportation

Nasd Vette — I have owned my vette for 6 months and it's a great car to own. It has plenty of accelerations, handles very well, and I just gave it a fresh paint job to clean it up. Awesome car to own. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Red Rocket — After wanting a vette for years, I finally got one at age 41. Loving every minute with it! I'm just sorry I didn't get one years ago. The ride and handling are world class, and even though newer ones are more powerful, it still has a lot of get up and go. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |
