I Have Been The Only Owner — It is a fun car to drive year round. It was fun to restore. T-top is a blast in the summer and nice to look out in the winter. It has a nice muscle car look, feel, and sound. The interior is restored to like new too. The 6 speed transmission gets me 27 mpg on the highway.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

This Car Is A Very Rare Mustang — i own 1 of the 3 gray 1985.5 ford mustang GT. most say that the first year of fuel injection was in the 1986 models, but it wasn't, the first year of fuel injection was in late 1985 with the throttle body fuel injection. making this 1 of the rarest mustangs ever made. today there is only 1 other gray 1985.5 ford mustang GT driving around because the other out of the 3 is already wrecked.

Pros

I bought this car new with .8 miles on her.  I rebuilt (because I could!) the entire engine within a month of getting it (wanted more power).

Cons

3 months later, my sweet ride was stolen only to be found in pieces in Texas a month later.

1985 Mustang Gt Anniversary Editon — This was my first 'new' car. I worked at a auto parts store and had lots of friends in the business. I got to get high performance parts at a discount and my buddys and I rebuilt the motor a few weeks after getting it - I wanted to go faster!

The Boss Of The Road Literally — i enjoy the amount of power this car has this car is like a dream car for me the part i dislike its the back seats you cant really fit more than 3 people but otherwise the car is great the handling is best at fast speeds

Pros

good performance for the mid-80's

Cons

poor reliability

Shows How Far Modern Performance Cars Have Come — very quick for its day; pretty unreliable, as things started going wrong by 70K mi. Styling was ok, although fairly unimaginative. It handled fairly well, but straight-line performance was more its forte. It probably wouldn't compare well to today's Mustangs.

Fun Fun Fun

Cons

Finicky carborator

Fun Fun Fun — This was an LX but with the 5.0 package with T-tops. The faster I drove this car the quieter it got. At 55 to 60 mph it was kinda noisy. The car itself handled great! I could turn on a dime and it held long turns without throwing you our the window. The biggest problem with the car was the carborator. It was a Holly four barrell that mechanics tended to lean out too much saying crap like, "Its to specs" and would not change it. So I had to adjust it myself. Ultimatly it led to the cars demise as too much gasoline got on the engine and ignited. It was totaled in 15 minutes

My 85 — car started as a 4 cyl it was converted into a v8 the car is not meant for everyday driving. I enjoy taking it out and crusing the town . I hope to do more to the car in the near future

Pros

Quick, virtually endless aftermarket support.

Cons

Obviouslly it's a fair weather only vehicle, but... I can't think of anything other than that.

1985 Mustang Gt — Neck snapping torque (it's a 351w, not a 302), still gets 20+ mpg on the highway, and 16 in town. I like that it's not nearly as common as the 87-93 Aero nose Mustangs, and the interior has more character in my opinion, flat dash, halo headrests, red piping on the upholstery. Love it.
