Bamf — Well, what can I say, I love my car... if you can pick one up, whether it's in good condition or not, I highly recommend them. They are great project cars because they have relativly accessible parts suppliers. You will not regret! |

Porsche 914 — Just like a Go Kart on steroids! Awesome handling car. Low to the ground, has a roll cage, racing seats and 5 point harnesses. It's set up for the track so it rides pretty harsh on the street. Turns a lot of heads when we drive it on the streets!!! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsQuick, stylish and perfect for a sunny day (convertible). Hybrid Volkswagen/Porsche makes for a stylish car that is easy to understand in terms of mechanics. Mid-engine position makes for great handling. Unbeatable in the corners! ConsOnly two seats, tight suspension (bumpy ride), porsche parts are expensive-but the volkswagen parts are wonderfully inexpensive. Difficult to work on the engine as it sits in tight quarters behind the drivers seat.

9+1+4 = Love — Italien styling and Karmann coachwork is a wonder to behold with a nice paint coat and a good polish. The stance and design of this car is eye catching and the driving experience is pure sport and loads of fun. Took it down the west coast - a dream road trip in this car. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

ProsNow rare to find about town, so it turns heads ConsVery low car, great for kids, but I am no kid.

Beautiful Porshe 914 — I like everything about this car. It turns more heads than a 911 because there are so many of them in 40+ years of production. The 1.8 engine is fair and I can always put a 6 cyl. in it. Easy to work on. Targa top is superb. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsIncredible handling, amazing driving feel. Conshigh maintenance costs.

If You Like To Work On Cars Get One!!! — Performance - overall, very good. Slow acceleration and decent top speed for it's time period. However, this is all made well by some of the best handling ever achieved by a car. Build Quality - '70's german steel = meh. rusts easily. fickle engine, but very easy to work on. Appearance - highly debatable. I absolutely adore the styling, but it isn't for everyone. Cost of Ownership - gas mileage: very good for such an old car, 25-30 mpg. maintenance: it's a hole in your driveway that you throw money into. Fun factor - off the scale. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |
