1974 Chevrolet Chevelle Overview
The 1974 Chevelle no longer had muscle-car tilt, but it was still a respectable automobile, with much of the '70s styling that makes this car an eye-catcher on the road to this day.
The base engine was a turbo-thrift 250 six-cylinder rated at 100 horsepower. The top-of-the-line engine was the turbo-jet 454 V8, rated at 235 horsepower.
According to Chevy's brochure, the three objectives in the 1974 Chevelle were value, fine handling, and selection. They achieved all of these, even if 112- and 116-inch wheelbases made for wide cornering.
